My wonderfully sweet daughter Marena was FINALLY diagnosed at the end of 1st grade. We were given so many "diagnoses" to that point I could have cried! Knowing was the first step... Marena is the ONLY girl in her autism support classroom and loves it. She is such a little tomboy and loves Hot Wheels, Hess trucks, anything that makes noises. I believe she will be a successful "Weather girl" someday- she loves the Weather Channel and anything to do with the weather (tornado's are her favorite). She may struggle in school with academics, but, socially she has sprouted wings..the rest will come!!
